What is UNDOR Pro Protect?
UNDOR Pro Protect is a garage door cable protection system that creates a dedicated passage for your EV charging cable underneath your garage door.
Instead of allowing the garage door to rest directly on the charging cable—which can compress, pinch, or damage both the cable and the bottom garage door seal—UNDOR Pro Protect creates a protected channel specifically designed for the cable.
It allows many homeowners to keep their EV charger mounted safely inside the garage while charging a vehicle parked outside.
The Most Important Requirement: You Need a Compatible Garage Door Seal
This is by far the most common question we receive.
UNDOR Pro Protect is not installed directly into your garage door. Instead, it installs into the floor at each end of your garage door.
That means your garage door must already have—or be upgraded to—a compatible bottom seal before installation. The new seal must have atleast 2" of height to fill in the gap generated by UNDOR Pro Protect. When purchasing a new seal, a 4" wide replacement is a good size.
It's a good idea to install a new seal anyway, since it improves weather protection and helps ensure the best fit possible.
Why Doesn't It Work With Every Existing Garage Door Seal?
Garage doors use many different styles of bottom weather seals.
Over the years, manufacturers have used different track sizes, profiles, and rubber designs.
Some seals simply don't provide enough material or the correct shape to properly install a cable protector.
Rather than forcing a one-size-fits-all solution that may not perform well, UNDOR Pro Protect is designed to work with compatible replacement seals that provide consistent performance and reliable weather sealing.
Can I Install It Myself?
Yes.
Most homeowners can complete the installation using basic hand tools.
If you're already replacing your garage door bottom seal, adding UNDOR Pro Protect only adds a few extra steps to the process.

Will My Garage Door Still Seal Properly?
When installed correctly with a compatible bottom seal, your garage door continues to create a weather-resistant seal along the floor while allowing the charging cable to exit through the protected channel.
As with any garage door, the final seal depends on the condition of your floor, the adjustment of the garage door, and the condition of the weather stripping.
What Charging Cables Does It Work With?
UNDOR Pro Protect is designed to accommodate many Level 1 and Level 2 EV charging cables commonly used by North American electric vehicles.
Because charging cable diameters vary between manufacturers, we recommend checking the product specifications before ordering if you're unsure about your cable. Cables less than 1" in diameter will fit within the channel.

Why Not Just Close the Garage Door on the Cable?
Many EV owners simply close their garage door directly onto the charging cable.
While this may appear to work, repeated compression can create unnecessary wear on both the charging cable and the garage door's weather seal. Charging cables are still electrical equipment and should be treated with care.
This can also cause your door to shut at an angle or put added stress on the door.
UNDOR Pro Protect is designed to provide a dedicated pathway for the cable instead of relying on the weather seal to compress around it.
Is UNDOR Pro Protect Permanent?
No.
The system installs into the garage door seal and can be removed or replaced later if needed.
If you move homes or replace your garage door, installation requirements may differ depending on the new door's seal configuration.

Do I need to drill into my garage door?
No. Installation is performed by either drilling into your garage floor or using an approved adhesive.
Can I leave my charger mounted inside the garage?
Yes. That's one of the primary reasons customers purchase UNDOR Pro Protect.
Will it work with my garage door?
UNDOR Pro Protect works with standard panel style garage doors (most common). If you have other styles of door, it likely won't work. You will need a replacement door seal as well.
Does it work in winter?
